For this project, 72 Prismbeam floodlights with 1 kW blue metal halide lamps were mounted on specially designed glass brackets. Glasgow City Council and Gillespie Landscape Architects specified Prismbeam because of its performance and aesthetics.

The concept behind the project was to create a distinctive urban lighting design and further enhance Glasgow as the UK's second shopping centre, outside of London.
Glare was an issue for which Prismbeam offered a solution: due to the reeded prismatic lenses of the luminaire, glare is controlled effectively.
