Holophane’s maintenance reduces life cycle costs for Carlsberg
Regular exterior lighting maintenance by Holophane’s Field Service division is helping to reduce life cycle costs and optimise energy efficiency at Carlsberg UK’s strategic stores in Northampton.
The 3 acre strategic store, which is in use 24 hours a day, requires both high lighting levels and good light distribution; these are essential to help staff locate items - and for employee safety and the security of the site. The lighting is provided by a Holophane High Mast fitting with 12 x 1000W multi-vapour light sources, which was installed around five years ago.
Since installation, Holophane’s Field Service division has provided a specialist preventative maintenance service for facilities management provider COFELY, on behalf of Carlsberg UK. The work includes annual inspection of mechanical and electrical condition, replacement of consumable items such as lamps and repair of any defects.
“The preventative maintenance regime identifies any potential problems at an early stage and enables us to give COFELY and Carlsberg UK advance warning of any potential extra expenditure so they can budget accordingly,” explained Holophane’s Adrian Lockey. “It also ensures that the lighting is working at optimum efficiency and maintaining the correct lighting conditions,” he added.
