Bristol Street Motors, Knaresborough, is now open for business. This 7,000 m2 car dealership, operated by parent group Vertu Motors, was designed and completed by Cad 21 consulting engineers, based in Newcastle.

The Solution

HOW WE ACHIEVED THE RESULT

Fulfilling an ever-demanding brief for reduced maintenance costs and energy consumption is not easy, but has certainly been achieved with the external lighting which was supplied throughout by Holophane. A key factor with a car display area is visibility after dark, when potential customers often come to browse and the brief was to ensure that this area be lit to 50 lux ave and 0.5 uniformity.

Holophane have provided the perfect solution using their DSX1 and DSX2 LED lanterns and DEW LEDs, which offer cutting-edge LED technology. Due to the exceptional optics of these luminaires, far less lanterns and columns are required to meet the lighting levels specified and an amazing 40% reduction in power consumption is achieved overall.
